GoYAS, Yas Marina Circuit’s female-only weekly community health and fitness initiative, turned pink to raise money and drive awareness of breast cancer with its ‘Circuits on the Circuit’ special.

‘Circuits on the Circuit’ – a special initiative from Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, in association with Family Development Foundation and Activelife by Daman – is hosted at Yas Marina Circuit during GoYAS. More than 700 ladies are put through their paces to raise money for this worthy cause, which was held on the grass in front of Yas Racing School and where a giant pink ribbon can be seen erected in front of four exercise stations.
Participants visited the four stations in turn and completed 15 different exercises at 20-second intervals at each station before moving to the next. For every station completed, Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Daman and Yas Marina Circuit donated 25 AED (or 100 AED if all four stations are completed) to breast cancer charity.
In addition to this fantastic health initiative the regular offering of running, walking or cycling on the track at GoYAS, women have been also offered free breast screening tests and educational information about female health at the ‘Circuits on the Circuit’ event.
“GoYAS provides an arena for Emirati women to come and exercise and at the same time learn more about important issues surrounding women’s health,” says Raysa Al Ketbi, Operational Manager at Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy. “Many women’s cancers can be avoided or minimised if detected early and so the importance of these events cannot be underestimated. We are delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause and doing our part in the fight against this disease that affects so many women worldwide.”
‘Circuits on the Circuit’ is the latest in a series of women’s health initiatives from Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, hosted by GoYAS. Last month saw the UAE’s first Globeathon event to raise awareness of, and ultimately increase early detection, of gynaecological cancers. The success of Globeathon means that many more life-saving initiatives will be rolled out at GoYAS in the coming months.
GoYAS has been running for the past 18 months under the patronage of Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and has generated a strong UAE National female following, with 90 per cent of attendees being UAE Nationals. Held every Wednesday between 6pm – 9pm, entry is free but requires registration for membership on the Yas Marina Circuit website: www.yasmarinacircuit.com. Group fitness activities are also available including boot-camp, Pilates, Zumba and Yoga although these are not on offer at ‘Circuit’s on the Circuit’ on 22nd October.
