Sports Photography Competition in association with Getty

The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy is pleased to announce the ICSW Sports Photography Competition in association with Getty Images, that will take place as part of the 4th International Conference of Sports for Women (ICSW).

2017 will mark the second edition of the competition which aims to seek out the very best female Emirati amateur sports photographers in the UAE, with the opportunity to win the prize of a lifetime – an internship with the world’s leading photographic agency, Getty Images.

We are looking for truly memorable sporting images captured by the people of UAE, which evoke the passion, thrills, unpredictability and raw emotion of sport of all kind. The short-listed images will be selected for display at a special exhibition at this year’s ICSW.

How it works

  1. Using the form below, upload an image you have taken that best depicts the duel themes of Women & Sports and Inspiring Generations
    AND
  2. Upload the same picture to Instagram by using #FBMASPE17 & tag @ADFBMA

The image can be shot from any device, including mobile phones, but must meet the entry requirements below.

Entry Requirements for Photos

  • Photos must be your original work. Photos taken by other photographers that have been modified are not eligible.
  • Files must be 10 MB or less in size, must be at least 960 x 720 pixels large, and no larger than 3,500 x 3,500 pixels large.
  • Photos must not have been published previously (photos that have been published upon submission to other contests, etc. do not meet this requirement).
  • Photos must not infringe the privacy rights or the privacy of others, and must not harm their reputations.
  • Photos must abide by all terms, and must not infringe on the rights or legally protected interests of others.
  • Additionally, if a winning photo is deemed to have violated the above requirements after winners have been announced, the award will be retracted.

Any number of images can be uploaded to the website until the competition closes on 21st October 2017. Winners will be announced during the conference on 6-7 November.

Information

  • Our esteemed judges will review all entries and select the best images.
  • From all the submitted photos 20 will be selected to be displayed during at a special exhibition at this year’s conference

Registration is FREE

Winning Criteria

  • Technical skills – use of lighting, composition
  • Originality – different idea or concept as opposed to cliché
  • Relevance to competition themes – does you image convey the duel themes of Women & Sports and Inspiring Generations?

Prizes

1st Prize

  • A 4-week month internship with Getty Images in the UAE and 10,000 AED

2nd Prize

  • 5,000 AED

3rd Prize

  • 3,000 AED
